Lusitano Stud
In 2021 we began our journey to breed Lusitanos. Since purchasing our mare L-Katharine (Lilly) in 2016, we have been falling more and more in love with this amazing breed. They are incredibly versatile, intelligent and athletic. In 2021 we purchased Lusitano stallion Prestige HH and we are expecting our first foal in late 2022.
The Lusitano Horse
The Lusitano is a very ancient, pure breed that originates in Portugal. It belongs to the Baroque horse breeds meaning the breed is based on what was desirable in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Originally, Lusitanos were used by the Portugese aristocracy to ride into battle or in the bullfighting arena. The Lusitano is considered the "Sport Model" of the Iberian breeds. They have reached the top in many disciplines including Grand Prix Dressage and Showjumping, Working Equitation and in 4-In-Hand Driving they have been crowned World Champions.
Lusitanos are known for their agile, forward and smooth movement which makes them a very comfortable riding horse. Their flexible bodies are designed for collection, expression AND extension. The temperament of the Lusitano is both noble and generous. They possess an enthusiastic attitude towards work and a human-oriented disposition.

Prestige arrived at AMT in 2021 and is developing into a magnificent stallion. We will be bringing his education on slowly over the next 5 years. Prestige is by the famous stallion Rubi AR out of Vistosa (imp).
Rubi AR is the most successful Lusitano stallion available today. After a stellar international career, he is ranked in 41st on the 2017 WBFSH sire rankings for dressage; the highest rank of any Iberian stallion.
