Are you looking for something different to do with your horse? Do you get bored practising groundwork in the arena? Do you want to conquer new challenges under saddle?
Join us for a fun day of horsemanship and put some purpose into your groundwork or riding by working with obstacles at the Chidlow Pony Playground on Saturday 29 February 2020.
Andrew will be there to guide you to communicate with your horse by using the obstacles as a focus to improve your horsemanship and confidence. This is a perfect next step if you have your basic groundwork skills established (if you’re still working on those, come along to one of our young horse and groundwork days to get on the right track).
The Playground has over 45 different obstacles to test your skills. There is plenty of float parking and yards are available.
The day will run as follows:
Morning (9am to 12pm) – Groundwork
The morning will be spent working through the obstacles on the ground. Andrew will demonstrate how to use each obstacle to benefit your horse’s confidence, your communication and body control. You will work in small groups so there is plenty of 1 on 1 attention.
Afternoon (1pm to 4pm) – Groundwork or Ridden
In the afternoon you will have the chance to get in the saddle and tackle the obstacles as a team with your horse. If you’re not ready to ride yet, you can continue working from the ground.
The day is suitable for all levels of horses and riders and groups will be split to accommodate experience and needs of each horse – handler / rider combination. Participant places are limited to ensure everyone receives plenty of time and attention.
