Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be an experienced rider to attend an AMT clinic or lesson?

Not at all.

AMT welcomes riders of all experience levels — from complete beginners to seasoned competitors. Our goal is to help you build a stronger connection with your horse, increase your confidence, and progress at a pace that suits you. Whether you’re just starting out or refining advanced skills, you’ll be supported every step of the way.

What types of training does AMT offer?

We offer a well-rounded approach to horsemanship, including groundwork, in-hand work, and ridden sessions. Each is tailored to support healthy biomechanics, clearer communication, and greater confidence for both horse and rider. We also run specialised clinics such as Garrocha, Mechanical Cow, Cattle Working, and Trail Confidence

Can you travel to my property for lessons?

Yes, we offer mobile coaching and can travel to your property where possible. Alternatively, lessons and clinics are available at our base in Gidgegannup. Please get in touch to discuss availability and travel options in your area.

Do I need a specific type of horse or gear to participate?
Not at all. AMT is about working with the horse you have — any breed, any discipline. There’s no requirement for special tack or equipment. What matters most is your willingness to learn, ask questions, and explore new ways of working with your horse.
What's the difference between groundwork and in-hand work?

Groundwork typically focuses on establishing clear communication, confidence, and body awareness from the ground. In-hand work builds on these foundations with more refined exercises that develop balance, posture, and lateral movement. Both are essential for creating a well-rounded, responsive horse — whether ridden or not.

How do I book a clinic or private session with AMT?

You can book by using the contact form on our website. If you have questions or would like to chat through options, feel free to give us a call — we’re always happy to talk about where you and your horse are at, and how we can support your journey.
